A sumptuous and amazing traditional tribal vintage collectable persian oriental WOOL hand knotted rug/runner carpet in vibrant gem like colours, chunky tribal geometric medallion central motif and lovely deep floral double floral gypsy'Roma' borders. Similar in style, type and also width if anyone needed a runner in 2 pieces which I was and so also have listed...... Incredible laid on a dark or perhaps a painted wood floor?
A splendid and lovely size carpet.... Minimal signs of age related wear and lots of warmth, love, colour and style to offer.....
Approx; 95 x 170 cms. My rugs are from different parts of the world, mostly Persian/Oriental in design, but each has an individual mix of tradition, coupled with decadent vintage beauty in unusual colour combinations. I love that some are threadbare, or faded in places, gypsy like, reminding me of the bedouin souks and markets I have visited, of sandy desert floors where tea is sipped and rugs are used, faded/distressed and threadbare at times.I believe that this special preloved vintage feel to each of them is part of their unique charm! Each rug tells a story.... They were intended to line our homes and hearths, to be sat, walked and played upon, to be used and loved like rich colourful backdrops to the tapestry of our own lives and stories.
They were intended to be passed on down through the families that made them, were an investment and meant to become more worn and special with each successive year.......... The magical fabric of the lives around them interwoven into the very fibres of the rugs themselves.
