9'4" x 12'3" hand knotted, authentic antique rug late 1800s to very early 1900s estimate. Crafted with fine kurk lamb sheep wool and vegetable dyes with amazing hue variation unmatched by modern techniques. No stains, holes, tears, animal or smoke. Double tied knots upon two foundation layers, making about 400 hand tied knots per square inch cumulative. Several million individually hand tied knots overall.

This is very unusual design with deer imagery in each corner along with ancient phoenix symbology, tree of life, circle of life, prosperity, rebirth concepts. Red field from pomegranate beets and madder root.

Several shades of blue dark light navy from indigo lilac and hyacinth. Accents include many earth tones.

Some antique wear / low pile over the century but clean and intact for another century of use. Excellent for the age and charming. See all 12 images and closeups.
