9'6" x 12'5" ft clean authentic antique rug completely hand knotted with fine sheep wool and vegetable dyes (very early 1900s estimate). Antique worn but no holes, rips, tears, animal or smoke. Millions of individually hand tied knots in this rug. Each knot is also tied twice upon two foundation layers for durability. Natural organic dyes oxidize over the century giving lighter and darker shades of red or blue, a beautiful affect called'abrash' by curators and collectors. Old world dye making techniques from a bygone era unmatched today. Natural sources includes pomegranate, beet, madder root, indigo, lilac, hyacinth, larkspur, weld and more.
