8'4" x 11'6" genuine, clean antique semi worn rug completely hand knotted with sheep wool and vegetable dyes (early 1900s estimate). Red field and dark blue border.

Double tied knots upon two foundations. No stains, animal or smoke. Natural organic dyes oxidize over the century giving lighter or darker shades of red or blue tone, called'abrash' by curators and collectors. Dye methods unmatched even today. Dyes from pomegranate, beet, madder root, indigo, lilac, hyacinth, larkspur, weld and more.
