8'1 x 11' genuine, clean antique worn rug completely hand knotted with sheep wool and vegetable dyes (late 1800s to very early 1900s estimate). Beautiful colorful vintage distressed antique of a bygone era. Myriad accents about a dozen colors.

Double tied knots upon two foundations, 200 knots per inch per layer for effective 400 knots per inch over all, quite fine. No stains, animal or smoke. Natural organic dyes oxidize over the century giving lighter or darker shades of red or blue tone, called'abrash' by curators and collectors. Dye methods unmatched even today. Dyes from pomegranate, beet, madder root, indigo, lilac, hyacinth, larkspur, weld and many more.
